KTVA: Juneau Abortion Protest Allegedly Disrupted by Public Employees

by Bill McAllister

ANCHORAGE – In Juneau, a controversy surfaced in the Senate regarding an abortion protest earlier this week and the alleged use of state vehicles to block protesters from view.

On the Senate floor, Senators Mike Dunleavy of Wasilla and Fred Dyson of Eagle River complained that anti-abortion protesters holding photos of aborted fetuses across from the Capitol had their first amendment rights violated, because of state vehicles parked in front of them.

Dunleavy said one protester was shoved to the ground.

Part of a video showing state vans across from the capitol was posted on the website of 2010 Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller.
