Roe v. Wade Memorial Service-2008

Archbishop Roger Schwietz, OMI and the State Council of the Knights of Columbus invite you to join in the Interdenominational Prayer Services that will be taking place simultaneously in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau on Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 pm. Alaska Right to Life is also assisting in this event. We are gathering to memorialize Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 US Supreme Court decision that has allowed the killing of over 48 million babies in the womb.

The prayer will be said at the same time, 2:15 pm, throughout the state for all who have been affected by abortion. We ask for a change of heart for those who support or take part in abortion. Representatives from the Governor's Office will be at each of the three sites and speak to those who have gathered to pray. Crisis Pregnancy Centers and many other people of faith throughout our community will also be present. We ask that you gather to pray with us and invite others to attend.

The Anchorage Service will take place at the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery on 9th and Cordova St. at 2:00 pm.
