We all know that faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ, and few people need the word of Christ more than those who advocate for abortion.

The Lord is graciously gathering as many as 200 abortion activists on Saturday July 9^th from 1 to 3 PM at Delaney Park Strip in Anchorage and we’re assembling a team to share the gospel and truth about abortion as they lament the loss of Roe v Wade.

If we do not go, how then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed, or heard without a preacher?

Apostle Paul proclaimed the Truth of Jesus Christ at every opportunity and so should we. That’s why we’re assembling a team to bring the gospel to abortion proponents to tell them there is life after Roe…

The Buck Stops with The Governor

THIS BUCK STOPS WITH GOVERNOR DUNLEAVY.

On April 6^th, the House voted overwhelmingly to prohibit abortion funding in next year’s budget not once, but twice!

The budget that passed the House had a chance of prohibiting abortion funding and also offered a very small PFD payment.

However, the budget passed by the Senate Republicans offers $5,500 Dividend payments to every eligible Alaskan, while guaranteeing that every abortion invoice Planned Parenthood submits will be paid by you and me, the Alaska taxpayers.

So what’s it going to be? A full PFD and guaranteed abortion funding for yet another year?

Imagine if you had that choice. Imagine if you were the one out of nearly 60 legislators that will not vote for a budget that pays both a full Dividend AND for babies to be murdered.

No legislator should be in that position.

And if Governor Dunleavy makes good on his campaign promises from 2016, they won’t have to.

Everybody knows which legislators will NOT vote for a budget that pays for babies to be killed – Eastman and Kurka. How the others vote, well, we’re just not so sure.

But no legislator should have to make that call on their own, either.

So click the links below and let your elected representatives know that you expect them to do the right thing. If paying a full PFD requires they sacrifice babies’ lives, then their votes on our behalf should not support such a sacrifice.

So please let your legislators know – right now – that killing babies is never okay, especially with taxpayer money.

A BIRD’S EYE ON ABORTION PROTESTS

Bob Bird is a long time friend of Alaska Right to Life, a Constitutional Scholar and Pro-Life leader. Bob has influenced pro-life ministry, activism, and legislation in Alaska for decades.

Prolifers met at the Y in Soldotna May 21 to have a counter-presence for the nation-wide support for abortion. Not knowing what to expect, and fearful of ranting and screaming abortion promoters, I wanted to keep myself a good distance away.

I did not show up at the Y but instead posted myself outside the Planned Parenthood clinic, about six blocks away. It was quiet, warm and sunny and while I was there, only myself and another prolifer prayed quietly on the sidewalk.

I learned that at the Y both sides were about equally represented. When my replacement arrived in front of PP I went to the Y to join the others. Both sides had made an implicit agreement to occupy two of the four corners. We were hoping to avoid any nasty confrontations and were met with the pleasant surprise of a very well-spoken and courteous abortion supporter.

“What might we have in common?” was her first question.

“Please tell everyone on your side that they need not fear that we will be in their face, intend any harm or will verbally berate them.”

“I think we can agree on that.”

When she found out that two of our prolifers were world-class ornithologists, she was most excited and engaged in a friendly conversation about bird watching. She asked me about the questionable constitutional issues regarding Roe v. Wade and was surprised that I was a states’ rights advocate, not a Human Life Amendment promoter.

I said, “These United States were never meant to have coast-to-coast uniformity. The 19th century physicians, who outlawed abortion, knew that they needed to go to each state to enact prolife laws. This tissue of protection would have maintained itself were it not for the overthrow of the Constitution that Roe represents. Similarly, I think if the federal government got into the business of defending pre-born babies, they would do a selective and very bad job of it, like just about everything else.

“There are libertarians who favor abortion but want Roe overturned, since it is an overthrow of the Constitution. And there are prolifers who believe a federal amendment is not only impossible, but would lead to an unpopular tyranny. Imagine ‘pregnancy officers’ posted in offices and factories, checking to see why women missed their last period. Not much different than China.”

This pleasant exchange was marred when we learned later that a reporter from KSRM Radio was hit by an egg or eggs hurled by a cowardly passing motorist while she was interviewing an abortion supporter. Few people saw it, but the reporter suffered serious welts to her head and neck. How this story will play out is anyone’s guess at this time. No description of the vehicle or the occupants has been available. The motives are, of course, left to guesswork.

The LIFE At Conception Act is a comprehensive bill that eliminates legalized child killing in Alaska from the moment of conception without exception to the child’s age, level of development, disability, sex, nature of conception, or any other distinguishing characteristic.

The LIFE At Conception Act protects all innocent human life from the moment of conception to natural death by addressing several points in Alaska’s Constitutional and Statutory Laws:

Eliminates abortion access from the right to privacy, as found in Article 1, Section 22 of the Alaska State Constitution.
Defines children in the womb from the moment of conception as ‘natural persons.’
Defines conception as the beginning of the biological development of a human organism, when the sperm and egg fuse.
Defines abortion as the action taken before or during the birth of a child with the intent to kill the child.
Repeals Alaska’s abortion laws and statutes, primarily Alaska Statute 18.16.
Creates criminal penalties for any intentional killing of a child at any age equivalent to negligent homicide, murder, or any other intentional killing of a person.

It took years to find and develop partnerships all across America and Alaska to bring The Life At Conception Act to the Alaska Legislature in 2017 for the first time.

Today, the Life At Conception Act has been introduced for the second time by David Eastman, Representative of District 10 in the Mat-Su Valley. David was joined by Sharon Jackson, Representative of District 13 in Eagle River.

We’re grateful to both Mr. Eastman and Mrs. Jackson and look forward to working closely with them to make abortion in Alaska illegal and unthinkable.
