Governor Dunleavy and All Alaskan Legislators:
2024 marks the 54th year of legalized abortion in Alaska making Alaska one of the most progressive and abortion-friendly states in America.
This unholy, immoral, and unconstitutional status quo of killing pre-born babies must end.
I am urging you to support, co-sponsor, and vote for, and HB 205, the Life At Conception Act the law in Alaska.
The LIFE At Conception Act is a comprehensive bill that guarantees equal protection from the moment of conception without exception to the child’s age, level of development, sex, nature of conception, or any other distinguishing characteristic.
Representative Recipient, the US and Alaskan Constitutions recognize the right to life and direct our government – that’s you – to provide equal protection and equal justice for all persons.
The Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health opinion of 2022 affirmed what Pro-Lifers have been saying for over 50 years: there has never been a constitutional right to abortion in either the Federal or any State Constitution.
In fact, the Dobbs opinion opened a direct route to protecting babies:
- Dobbs affirmed that there is no right to abortion in the US Constitution.
- Dobbs made it clear that the “right” to abortion cannot be inferred or interpreted.
- Dobbs gets rid of the specter of pro-abortion judicial overreach that has haunted Pro-Lifers for 50 years: the right to abolish abortion “belongs to the people and their representatives.”
We are not waiting another 50 years for Alaska’s Courts to correct their deadly errors like the US Supreme Court did in overturning Roe.
The time to act is NOW.
